BMW positions a new innovation to promote security and safety to passengers, while trying to ensure that connectivity isn’t compromised.
The BMW’s latest innovation, AirTouch, is stated to be released in Las Vegas at CES 2016. As it is hoped to finally bridge the gap between vehicle and driver.
The capabilities of AirTouch is having passenger or driver to manipulate navigation controls, communication, and entertainment using hand gestures. In this way, contact with the screen’s surface is no longer needed, but the sensors itself will handle the driver’s request.
Drivers, on the other hand, may also have the capability to get more hands-on, as the AirTouch button is positioned on the rim of the steering wheel.
The main intention of the AirTouch is for drivers not to divert their attention entirely on the controls. Having said that, it will benefit drivers to solely focus on the road.
