Lana Del Rey will be given the ‘Trailblazer Award’ at the 10th Billboard’s Women in Music ceremony. This will be held on December 11 in New York and will be aired in Lifetime on December 18.
This award is for the inspiring journey of Del Rey on her singing career. Last year, Hayley Williams of Paramore was the one who was honored with the Trailblazer award.
According to the chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, Janice Min: “She (Del Rey) has done things her way from the moment she first burst on the scene, and continues to make brave and bold choices that defy convention. She’s a trailblazer from her music to her mystery to her multitude of other interests. She keeps everyone awaiting her next move.”
On the same event, Lady Gaga will also receive 2015 Woman of the Year award, Demi Lovato will have the Rulebraker award, Slena Gomez will be honored as the Chart Topper for this year and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes will get the Powerhouse award. The mentioned artists will also perform on the event. Other singers who will receive honors will be announced in the coming days.
